Elisabeth Patton received her DVM degree from Colorado State University in 1991. She then completed a large animal internship at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville School of Veterinary Medicine. In 1996, she completed a combined Master’s and large animal medicine residency from the University of Wisconsin-School of Veterinary Medicine and is board certified with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. She received her PhD in Immunology from Cornell University in 2000 and then returned to Madison, WI where she worked as a clinical instructor in large animal medicine at the University of Wisconsin, School of Veterinary Medicine. She has been working at the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection as the Johne’s Program Manager for the state of Wisconsin since 2003 and in 2011 she also began serving as the Tuberculosis Program Manager. She is a member of the International Association of Paratuberculosis, National Johne’s Working Group and the chair of the Johne’s Committee for USAHA and serves as an external advisory board member of the Mycobacterial Diseases of Animals.
